Fund Raising
The group depends on an unpaid
team of about 60 volunteer helpers and local vets and certain
suppliers are generous in their support. Nevertheless, annual
operating costs are about £25,000 per annum and provision has to
be made for the periodic replacement of ponies and renewal of
equipment and yard facilities. In common with other, larger RDA
groups Wyfold is finding the increasing bureaucratic regime for
charities demanding of time and the trustees have recently
appointed a part-time yard manager.
The group receives no fees, state aid or other funding and is
entirely dependent on donations and fund raising events. Our
fund raising team works hard throughout the year, organising
events to raise much needed funds. We produce a range of
Christmas cards and notelets; all proceeds
from the sales go towards our running costs. These are available
to buy from any Wyfold Group member, some local outlets or
contact us to place an order.
We run an "Adopt a Pony"
scheme suitable for families and individuals. In addition we are
also grateful to local companies and other organisations for their corporate support. If
