Wyfold Group RDA Registered charity No.1119428

The group depends on an unpaid team of about 80 volunteer helpers and local vets and certain suppliers are generous in their support. Nevertheless, annual operating costs are  in excess of £40,000 per annum and provision has to be made for the periodic replacement of ponies and renewal of equipment and yard facilities. In common with other, larger RDA groups Wyfold is finding the increasing bureaucratic regime for charities demanding of time and therefore the trustees have found it necessary to employ a part time yard manager to assist them.

How we raise funds
The group receives no fees, state aid or other funding and is entirely dependent on donations and fund raising events. Our fundraisers works hard throughout the year, organising events to raise much needed funds.

There is an ever-changing selection of seasonal produce on sale at the yard, such as homemade jams and chutneys, seedlings and larger plants. There is also a very popular used book stall - come and have a browse! All proceeds from the various sales go towards our running costs.

Our Marathon Woman, Liz Jones ( Wednesday Team) completed the Abingdon Marathon today in 3 hours 45 minutes, gaining a First Place in the over 55's Women's event. It was an absolutely beautiful day as she crossed the finishing line and she wasn't even out of breath. How many 58 year olds can run 26 miles and still pose for photos and have a chat! ( Not me for one!). The Wyfold banner was there to greet her home and she is hoping to raise 1,000 for our charity. Very well done, Liz. You are an inspiration.

Eat a Course, Feed a Horse allows you to get involved without getting your feet muddy. Our horses munch their way through about £2500 worth of hay every year, with each bale costing £5. You can help raise funds by inviting your friends to join you for a coffee morning, light lunch or afternoon tea in return for a small donation from each guest. Download menu ideas and a template for your invitations to get you started!

Adopt a Pony
We run an "Adopt a Pony" scheme suitable for families and individuals.

In addition we are also grateful to local companies and other organisations for their corporate support. If you are able to make a donation to Wyfold RDA, please download the form here and send it with your cheque.
