The group depends on an unpaid team of about 80 volunteer helpers and local vets and certain suppliers are generous in their support. Nevertheless, annual operating costs are  in excess of £40,000 per annum and provision has to be made for the periodic replacement of ponies and renewal of equipment and yard facilities. In common with other, larger RDA groups Wyfold is finding the increasing bureaucratic regime for charities demanding of time and therefore the trustees have found it necessary to employ a part time yard manager to assist them.

How we raise funds
The group receives no fees, state aid or other funding and is entirely dependent on donations and fund raising events. Our fundraisers works hard throughout the year, organising events to raise much needed funds.

We are very grateful to our wonderful supporter Ronnie Englishby who raised over £1,000 by walking The Camino de Santiago

Both Darcy and Lady Mary were sponsored by Jan Bartlett Skinner for which we are very grateful.

Our Marathon Woman, Liz Jones ( Wednesday Team) completed the Abingdon Marathon today in 3 hours 45 minutes, gaining a First Place in the over 55's Women's event. It was an absolutely beautiful day as she crossed the finishing line and she wasn't even out of breath. How many 58 year olds can run 26 miles and still pose for photos and have a chat! ( Not me for one!). The Wyfold banner was there to greet her home and she is hoping to raise £1,000 for our charity. Very well done, Liz. You are an inspiration.
